How you learn in an effective way

Students know the problem of having less time during their apprenticeship. Working and studying at the same time can be stressful and are not easy to handle. To improve the way of learning and have great notes in your apprenticeship we have for you five different tips for efficient learning.

First, do not postpone your work! Having planned time management helps you do things on time and reduce time. It helps to be more organized and to study efficiently. On the other hand, postponing has a negative effect on your management. Also, mostly you are more stressed when you know you have things to do and it uses more time every time when you postpone something, because with every postponing you need time to again come into your theme you want to do.

The second tip is to use the Pomodoro technique. This technique is how you can work on something in a concentrated manner without any distraction from circumstances. It aims to improve productivity and stay focused on yourself. To know how to use the Pomodoro we explain shortly the theory from it. The method follows four steps: 1. Decide on what task you want to work on before you start. 2. Set the Pomodoro timer to „n“ minutes (traditionally 25 minutes). 3. Work on your task until the timer rings and do nothing others in this time. 4. Take then a short break (traditionally 5 minutes). After four runs of these steps, Pomodoro suggests taking a longer break (15-30 minutes).

The third tip from us goes along with the second. Clean up the things you have to do besides your learning. Everyone knows that you see things you should still do and let them distract you. This can be an untidy room, a laundry basket to fold, or an untidy dishwasher. Do these things before or plan to do this after, so that you can concentrate and study on your things and have your mind clear for others.

Fourth, make a to-do list. This helps you immensely to be organized and not to forget things you have to do. Make a weekly to-do list or also a monthly list and split them up into days. This way you save time and keep track of what’s coming up in the next weeks and months.

Last but not least – explore your learning style. We distinguish here between four different learn styles. What you find best or what you are a type for you can learn either visual, auditive, reading/writing or kinesthetic which means be practice-oriented and try things out directly. Choose your style and learn more effective than before.

in summary efficient learning is time reducing and helps you a lot to be more organized. Also, it protects you from doing stuff together and not working on 2 or 3 things at the same time, which also uses your time more than doing only one thing at the same time. With our tips for efficient learning and our help you will do your apprenticeship smart, learning fast and efficient and the most important thing – have fun!
